Brief 5 // Notebooks // Fact-File

From designing the beginnings of the fact-file and getting the design right, I ran with the idea throughout the publication, to create the finished product.

The design of the fact-file has been kept to minimum, so that the content can be clearly read and understood by the reader. The idea of it being a fact-file is shown through the design with subtle touches. The content is all derived from the research that I have carried out to make myself understand the craft of bookbinding and where it all started in the first place.

The best way to understand it fully is by practicing, this is the idea of the fact-file, it puts into motion the idea of learning about bookbinding, for you to find out more and be able to go and put the theory into practice. Having this underlining idea, was the reason to keep the design simple, I didn't want to have a really elaborate design that made it hard to read the content and not understand what it is communicating. Its designed simply but well, so that the user can get the most out of the fact-file and along with the notebooks that put the techniques into practice it, illustrates how it should look and work.
