Brief 3 // Iconic Cities // Chapter pages

The design of each chapter of the travel guide will be designed the same, this will keep the guide consistent throughout the whole publication. Each section will have be split into three different sections, the first page will be the introduction to the city and basic information about it, the following three pages will contain information on tourist attractions and the final page will be a map of the city.

As in the previous posts this will be the master page for each page within the guide, down the left hand side it will be perforated so the user can rip a page out if needed to take it with them.

This is the first page of the chapter, it is the introduction to the city, here there is information about the city and the basic information below contains information on accommodation prices, flight prices, transport, food and drink prices and the language spoken. There is also some sayings in the local language to help the reader ask some basic questions while on there travels.

The following three pages contain information about tourist attractions within the city. With these pages I have set the body copy into a layout with relates to the design of travel tags.

The final page of the section is a illustrated map of the city, this is a simple and basic map, but it contains information on where attractions are within the city. The format of each map for each city may vary so these will either be displayed landscape or portrait. Again these pages will be perforated down the side so they can be ripped out of the guide.

The design of these pages has been kept to a minimal design as the design of the master page is quite bold and has alot of detail within it. With the pages being laid out in a simple way it firstly all works together as a full page design, but secondly makes it easy for the reader to read the information. This will hopefully make them want to read it and engage with the travel guide.
