Brief 16 // Typocircle // Made Thought Publication

After working on the template / master page and the grids for the layout of the publication, I started to place the content of each publication into the documents.

Taking time over the layout to ensure it was all aligned to the grid and that the type, images and body copy all worked together to create an overall spread was the main focus whilst working on the publications.

The use of colour was also important, the blue and green both needed to be present throughout each publication, using them together on spread defined certain aspects of it, but also using each colour separate created a variety within the spread. Images were very important throughout the publications, this was the main part of them, I wanted them to be very visual as this is the best way to show off each of the designers / studios - showing images of their work.

Bringing everything together into the publication, created a consistent and well thought out design. Each publication and each layout are all slightly different, but with the use of the grid, they all have a similar aesthetic and carry the same style throughout the publication.

The spreads above show how the content and grids work together - showing how the components of the layouts fit together and fit to the grid to create the overall double page spread.

Below are images of the spreads from the made Thought publication. Here you will see the aesthetic and style of a high quality, well considered, structured design. A design that has variety throughout a numerous amount of spreads, but still all fits together and to create a consistent publication.
