Brief 12 // 21st Whisky // Final Labels

From working on each seperate element of the label and through testing out the correct sizes, I have brought it all together to create the final labels for the three products.

As you can see all the elements from the previous posts have been brought together and created this final label. Even though the label is one continuous sticker for the bottle, the hairline lines split the label down into three main sections. This is visible by the eye and makes it more visually stimulating. The use of the making process has been used on each label, this highlights how each product differs between each other - the solid colour indicates which section of the process is different. On the opposite side the description is short but informative and gives a brief overview of what the user can expect taste wise from the whisky, this also includes the illustrated icon, which again refers to the product and individualises them. The main type area of the label is simple but shows off the name and gives an aesthetical style to the whole label. On a whole I think that the design is simple but precise, it works around the theme of how each product is made and brings that to life visually. I think with the use of colour, layout and format of the label, this is a much more modern approach to whisky branding and packaging which revitalises the whisky market.

Amended Labels
From working on the packaging for the products, I realised that I had missed some vital information off the labels, this is more of the legal side of the labels, but information has to present around the barcode which states the company name, product details and where distributed from etc. I had also realised that I hadn't put the size of the bottle anywhere on the product label - this isn't a necessity as there is only the one size available, but I have now included this information at the end of the label near the barcode.

Adding the information to the label has changed the layout of the end section slightly. I have had to make it into two columns as the information wouldn't fit either side of the barcode. I think this has improved the label and makes it more interesting to look at, the smaller sections within the label are easily broke down with the hairline line, this makes it easier to read all the information, but this will change again when it is applied to the bottle itself.
