This label was built up of three different elements, a top layer, coloured layer and bottom layer. The idea of the neck label, was to bring a bit more sophistication to the product and make it that little bit more luxurious / high end product.
Using the design elements from the main label, I could build up these labels to keep them inline with the aesthetics of the brand.
The first idea for them was to show what the product was, this has the name of the product on the top layer and the product type on the bottom, when built up it adds a 3 dimensional element to it, but also shows the brand and product in one place.
The second idea is to use the illustrated symbols. These separate the products from each other and work in line with the concept of focussing on the making of the whisky. Again the label is built up in three layers, these labels don't say what type the product is, because thats what the illustration is meant to show, so on the bottom layer the brand name is placed there instead.
The design that I am going to use is the first one. I believe this better serves the use of the label, as it brings the brand name out larger and also the product type. With the second design the illustrations are used which are also visible on the bottle label, I think having both in such proximity is too much and will loose the appeal of the illustrations.
These are the labels built up to shows how they will look when printed.
