Brief 9 // Fedrigoni // Season Research

I liked the idea of relating the stock colour of each month to a colour that represents that month. This can be done through looking at the seasons of the year and which months fall within these seasons. I can then look at choosing colours that represent these months within the seasons.

Seasons -
Winter
Summer
Autumn
Spring

Months -

February
March
April
May
June
July
August
September

Assigning Colour -
Winter -
white, grey, light blue
These colours represent the weather, landscape and general description of the winter months. Snow, rain, clouds.

Spring -
Green, Pink, purple
Spring is the beginning of the months getting slightly warmer. This brings more sunshine, so brighter colours are introduced. There are new flowers and animals that are grown / born within spring and these colours represent that.

Summer -
Yellow, Bright blue, bright green
Summer, the summer months. Hot, sunny, bright, happy, cheerful all the sorts of moods and weather we have in summer. Summer is seen as the months of party, fun, relaxing. These colours are seen to represent this for the brightness and colour that they bring to an area

Autumn -
Red, Orange Brown
Autumn, the months leading to christmas. This time of year begins to get colder, but there is still the odd glimpse of sun here and there. Leaves on trees and plants, start to turn colour and eventually drop off. It is the start off the warmer colours coming to play.

This research and colour generation for each of the months will help me place a stock to each of the months within the calendar.
