Brief 9 // Fedrigoni // Ideas

After looking at the research and some of the ideas that came up when I was looking at these, I started to draw out some ideas for how I would like to tackle the brief and what I would create for the calendar.

The first idea is to have a calendar which works on the seasons of the year, this will be done by matching the colour of different stocks to each month and create a calendar of with a coloured body.

This will be A7 in size and have the date on the front, the reverse will double up as an area to write notes, but also include information about the stock and be a swatch for each of the stocks.

The calendar will be daily, this will mean there will be greater pieces of stock used and therefore show the colours more to give a better result in the end. This would work well to lighten up anyones desk.

Idea 2 is based around the same idea, but this is a monthly calendar. It will be designed around a match stick style and be all attached at the bottom, with a fold around flap that doubles up as a cover and a stand. This is will be a larger format to the first idea as the month view will take up much more room. I will still use the idea of having the months linked to colours and stock.

The only thing about this idea is that having the month view, it will have to be viewed for the whole month, which means the idea of having a note taking area / information on each stock to make it into a swatch will have to be lost.

The final idea is a combination of the two. I liked both ideas and thought each one brought a different element to the calendar, by combining the two together it will make a calendar which covers both monthly and daily views, have the information for each stock and note taking abilities.

The downfall to this idea is that it will be much larger in size, this could limit how many people would actually use it, as not everyone likes to have a big calendar on their desk.
