I feel that this is the best design layout and the one which fits the format in best way. This design highlights the date, with the use of the stroked lines, but that in turn also highlights the day and month above and below the lines. I think that the main focus of the design should be the date, which this delivers, but the day and month are also important which this design communicates that too, through the hierarchy of the type I have used within the design.
At the top of the design there is the fedrigoni logo, this is carried throughout the whole calendar. At to the right of the logo, there is the stock name of which the month is printed on. This gives the viewer information of the paper range in use upon first glance of the calendar, if they want to find out more about the paper, they can pull down the day or rip it off to show the information about each of the papers within the range. (This will be shown in a later post).
From this design the rest of the year will be designed to this template, which could be a tedious process, as it means setting all the days, dates and months of each month to this template. It will hopefully be worth it as having the calendar as a daily one there will be alot of pieces for each month, meaning a block of colour should be visible and it should create a colourful display of the Fedrigoni paper range.
Taking the deign above as a template, I have created the full year calendar as below. Shown in months.
January
February
March
April
May
June
July
August
September
October
November
December
